South-Carolina, March 10, 1770. To all men in all civilized
Kingdoms, states, provinces, colonies,and islands, and to
all His Majesty's subjects and others on the coast of
Africa. . . [24 lines describing a robbery and the persons
involved.] Thomas Dannails, one of the said Jordan's
accomplices, was born in the south of Ireland, aged about 30
years, of a dark complexion, slim, and middling sized, black
hair, speaks French, and plays well on the violin, had also
provided himself new clothes, writes a good hand, and boasts
a knowledge of mathematics, and other arts and sciences. . .

  A reward, to be paid in ready money, is hereby offered, of
fifty dollars, to any person or persons, for apprehending
and bringing to justice the said Joseph Jordan, Thomas
Dannails, Edmund James, severally and for each of them; and
a further reward of fifty dollars for each of the said
Negroes, recovered and delivered to me in Charlestown; . .
