London. . . Feb. 27. We are informed, a scheme is on foot,
and will be proposed in this session of Parliament, to tax
all the public diversions throughout the Kingdom, such as
operas, plays, masquerades, ridottos, assemblies, balls,
concerts, public card routs, public gardens &c. The
admittance will be stamped tickets, rated upon the
proprietors at so much in the pound, also the places of such
entertainments must be regularly licensed. . . . [2.5 lines]
