Just published, and to be sold, by John Dunlap, in Market-
street, Philadelphia, She Stoops to Conquer; or, The Mistake
of a Night. A Comedy. As it is acted at the Theatre-Royal
in Covent-Garden. Written by Doctor Goldsmith. This play
is truly comic: the humor is irresistible, and pleases in
the closet as well as in the theatre. It was acted in New-
York, a few nights ago, to a judicious and polite audience;
its success in England was unprecedented, and on this stage
unexampled. Doctor Goldsmith has been happy in the choice
of his characters, they are supported throughout with great
propriety, an the incidents that appear improbable, are, in
general, the natural effects of a thoughtful falling of a
young frolicksome country squire.
