Ten days ago came to the place
Of a subscriber, at a pace,
A dark bay mare, I will make bold,
Fourteen hands high and four years old;
With saddle on and bridle too,
And both of them are almost new;
No brand nor ear mark she has got,
In midling order is her lot;
The owner I desire to see
Him come and prove his property;
In reason, charges I'll expect,
To bring the coppers don't neglect.
In Chester County is my home,
In Londonderry township known;
When name I'll go by when above,
Is only known to Dictaen Jove.
But here I'm called Samuel Love.
