The following poem, wrote by Mr. Pope, we think very
suitable for this day's paper, being so near the celebration
of the grant festival of the nativity of our savior.
MESSIAH. A SACRED ECLOGUE.
In imitation of Virgil [?] Pollio.
Ye nymphs of Solyma! began the song:
To heav'nly themes sublimer strains belong.
The mossy fountains and the sylvan shades,
The dreams of Pindus, and the Aonian maids,
