By the Captains Hall and Jacobson, arrived at Boston from
London, who a have advices to the 28th of April.  London . .
. March 31.  Monday evening the mob proceeded from Fleet-
street, through St. Paul's church-yard, Cheapside, and the
Poultry, where the inhabitants immediately illuminated their
houses; . . . two companies of soldiers were sent for from
the tower, who came beating their drums, and playing on
their fifes as loud as possible, and surrounded the mansion-
house; . . .
  April 4.  . . .  Last week a ballad-singer was heard to
say, at the public house in Fleet-Market, that he earned
from eighteen shillings to a guinea, almost every day during
the late city election, by singing songs upon Wilkes and
Liberty, and No. 45. . . .
  April 26.  A certain great person at Poplar, a friend of
the patriotic Wilkes, had last Tuesday a very elegant
dinner; the company consisted of 45 gentlemen . . . the
whole concluded with a ball in the evening, when 45 ladies
entered the room; then the dances immediately began, and
each lady was saluted at the end of ever dance, which were
nine minuets, nine rigadoons, nine cotillions, and eighteen
country dances, being in the whole 45--after the ladies had
been kissed round 45 times, and 45 couple of jellies were
eaten, the company retired with great mirth and festivity,
at 45 minutes past three o'clock.  [signed] (ledger)
