Location | London |
Citation | PGCJ.771.036 31 Aug 1771:31 (399) London, June 12. . . A correspondant says, the Lord Mayor, by serving the office this year, will put into his pocket not less than 2000l. The tower saved him the expences of the Easter ball, and entertainment of the bishops; and the presence of his gout, &c. is to excuse him for not giving any ball or entertainment for the judges and others at any time throughout his mayoralty. |
