After the usual procession, the exercise was introduced with music, performed by the students, which was succeeded by a prayer adapted to the occasion. Then followed select pieces, speeches and dialogues, from the ancient and modern poets, orators and historians. . . and an admired Latin Ode, sung by the students solely, concluded the whole. |
