ON PEACE.--AN ODE. Designed for music.
At length war's sanguine scenes are o'er:
Her dire alarms are heard no more
Thro' all Columba's plain:
Sweet peace descends with balmy wings,

Chorus--
Hail! Heaven-descended guests, all hail!
Peace, independence, freedom, hail!
. . . [6 verses follow with same chorus except words between
first two "hail"s change from verse to verse. Final chorus
is] --Hallelujah, &c. &c.
