New-York, November 5. . . . We learn from Capt. Hertell who
arrived last Tuesday from Georgia. That ou the 28 of
August, 30 Indians were sent from Frederica, in that colony,
to Floreda. . . . they killed in the pursuit, a trumpeter,
eight men, and seven horses, and took one man prisoner:
they also took two horses. After they had entirely routed
the Spaniards, they went to their camping place, and found
some jugs of rum, which they carried to the boats, with
seven horses, a trumpet, the bridles and saddles belonging
to the men whom they had either killed or taken; but the
wind was so high, that the horses could not be put on board
the boats, wherefore the Indians shot them. . . . The party
of horse, as the three prisoners say, consisted of a
captain, an ensign, a trumpeter, and 30 men. . . .
