London. Oct. 24. General Paoli arrived in Bath last Tuesday
night about twelve. The next day, Capt. Wade, master of the
ceremonies; waited on the general, to compliment him on his
arrival. . . . The general politely asked him which was the
usual evening for the ball; upon his saying Friday night,
the general then said, that the ball night should not be
altered on his account; that he would go to Bristol on
Thursday, and return to Bath of Friday, and would do himself
the honour of being at the ball in the evening, where he
attended a very brilliant assembly.
