Just published & to be sold by John Dunlap, in Market-
Street, Philadelphia, She Stoops to Conquer: or, The
Mistakes of a Night. a comedy: As it is acted at the
Theatre Royal in Covent Garden. Written by Dr. Goldsmith.
This play is truly comic. The humour is irresistable, and
pleases in the closet as well as in the theatre. It was
acted in New-York a few nights ago, to a judicious and
polite audience; its success in England was unprecedented,
and on this stage unexampled. Dr. Goldsmith has been happy
in the choice of his characters, they are supported
throughout with great propriety; and the incidents, that
appear improbable, are, in general, the natural effects of
the thoughtless sallies of a young frolicksome country
'Squire.
