One hundred and twelve dollars reward. Deserted, from
Captain Woelpper's company, of the German battalion,
commanded by Lieut, Colonel George Stricker, the following
men, viz. . . .
Peter Bentic, a drummer, country born, 5 feet 5 inches
high, a labourer, and of a fair complexion. . . . It is
supposed he is with his mother, or with Capt. Thompson, in
whose company he was a drummer, and concealed in his house,
when Lieutenant Shrawder went to look for him, to bring him
to his respective company; therefore I request Mr. Thompson,
to deliver me my drummer, or I will put in force against him
the last act of General Assembly, for harbouring deserters.
. . .
Whoever takes up any of the said deserters, shall receive
eight dollars per man, besides, ten shillings, from me, as
an encouragement. . . Philadelphia, March 13, 1777.
