Now preparing for the press, and speedily will be published,
a tragic comedy, entitled, The County Election. The
dramatic personae are, Lord Ostensible. General Drab. Skunk.
Trimmer. Together with militia officers, inspectors, judges,
&c.
Scene II of Act I, opens and discovers Skunk mounted on a
horse-block, surrounded with militia officers.
Welcome, my friends, to this place of rendezvous. I am come
from the city on purpose to assist you in making out a
ticket. Beware of Republicans; they are all speculators and
rascals; if they catch you they will swallow you in a bumber
of wine.--Oh! how I hate a gentleman. . . . [continues for
