Bucks County, State of Pennsylvania, March 22. Thirty
dollars reward. Run-away from a plantation two miles below
Bristol, on the river, two Negro lads, named Philip and
Primus. Philip ran off on the 5th day of November last, is
about 20 years old, he formerly belonged to a Mr. Bodfield,
near Talbot, in Maryland, and was commonly called Bodfield's
Phil. When he ran away from him was put into Lewis-Town
gaol, from whence he made his escape; he is a slim fellow,
and in his actions pretends to be silly, is very
complaisant, but is a great knave, fond of bad women, strong
drink, fiddling and dancing; had on. . . [15 lines, reward
of 20 dollars, signed] John Stevens.
N.B. Philip has a brother living with Mr. Benjamin
Silvester, near the New-Bridge, Caroline County, Maryland,
where this fellow was seen some time last fall. . .
