Philadelphia. Mr Brooks who with Dr. John Kearsley and
Leonard Snowden, was, on October 6, 1775, taken up in this
city for their sincere attachment to their King and Country,
and shortly after sent away captive has lately been lucky
enough to make his escape from Lancaster gaol and has arrive
safe in this city. He says that the rebels treat their
prisoners in general without mercy. . . [10 lines of
