Last Friday, the day appointed for the stamp act's taking
place in America, . . . [47 lines describing overcast
weather, funeral procession of people]
The afternoon was spent in rejoicing, and bells ringing--
The court house was ornamented with the ensigns of liberty--
and the evening song was,
The birthright of Britons is freedom,
The contrary is worse than death's pang,
  Huzza for George the Third.
Chorus.
  Britannia's Sons despise slavery,
And dare to be nobly free!
