Capt. Brooks is just arrived; he hath brought no papers, but
Messi'rs R. and J. Day & Sons, wrote to me, Feb. 8. 1766.
"We sincerely congratulate you on the repeal of the Stamp-
Act, (which thanks be to God) is just now resolved by a
great majority in Parliament."
   The Captain of the above vessel who is a person of
undoubted veracity, informs us, that the intelligence
arrived at Philadelphia last Monday morning, an hour before
the Captain sail'd; that the bells in town were then
ringing, and that the gentlemen of the city gave entire
credit to the news. . . [8 lines]
  Immediately upon the arrival of this glorious news, the
bells were set a ringing, drums beating, and flags hoisted
in several places. . .
