Upon receiving the great and glorious news, of a total
repeal of the Stamp Act, which was first bro't by Mr.
Stavers, who arrived at General Gains's at half after 5
o'clock last Saturday morning, whereupon the General
immediately displayed his colours which still continue
flying, and will remain so till the day of rejoicing is
over. 
  The above account was confirm'd directly by two expresses
from the Sons of Liberty in Boston, to the Sons of Liberty
here.  The bells in this and the neighbouring towns were
immediately set a ringing, guns firing, drums beating, and
colours flying in different parts thereof, also on board the
ships, &c. in the harbour. . .
