Alexander Russell, Dancing Master, Hath this day opened a
Dancing School in Videll's Alley, in Second-Street, near
Chestnut-Street, for the instruction of young ladies and
gentlemen in that elegant department of polite education:--
He teaches the minuet in the newest and most approved method
from London and Paris; also the double and reverse minuets,
bretagne, cotillons, with the newest country dances.-- Those
gentlemen who choose to learn high dancing will be taught
the sailor's hornpipe, princess royal, double and single
hornpipes, scots measure, with a variety of other high
dances.
N.B. Said Russell hath, by particular desire, opened at the
same place a night school, for the accommodation of such
young gentlemen as cannot conveniently attend in the day.
School days are every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Hours
of attendance for day scholars are from nine till twelve,
and for night scholars from seven till nine o'clock. Ladies
and gentlemen who choose to be taught in their own
apartments will be attended on Tuesdays, Thursdays and
Saturdays.
