Just published, and to be Sold by John Dunlap, in Market-
Street, Philadelphia, Stoops to Conquer: or The Mistakes of
a Night.
A Comedy. As it is acted at the Theatre Royal in Covent
Garden.
This play is truly comic: The humour is irresistible, and
pleases in the closet as well as in the theatre. It was
acted in New-York a few nights ago, to a judicious and
polite audience; its success in England, was unprecedented,
and on this stage unexampled. Doctor Goldsmith has been
happy in the choice of his characters, they are supported
throughout with great propriety; and the incidents that
appear improbable, are in general, the natural effects of
the thoughtless sallies of a young frolicksome country
squire.
