For one night only. To all lovers of Novelty, Humour,
Satire, Pleasure, and Instruction.
This evening, being the 19th inst. will be presented, at the
Theatre in Southwark, An Attic Evening's Entertainment,
Consisting of specimens of Elocution, taken from the writing
of the most approved English authors, by Mr. Goodman, of the
American Company, and
Mr. Allen, from the Theatre Royal in Edinburgh;
Particularly an Introductory Address to the Town, written
upon the occasion, will be pronounced by Mr. Goodman; a
humourous and satirical Oration will be spoken by Mr. Allen.
In the course of this evening's entertainment, Lectures upon
a variety of subjects, moral and entertaining, selected from
the celebrated Lecture upon Heads, written by George
Alexander Stevens, will be delivered by Messrs. Goodman and
Allen.
The whole to conclude with a Picture of a Playhouse, or,
Bucks Have at Ye All, after the manner of Mr. King, of the
Theatre Royal, Drury-Lane, by Mr. Allen.
The doors to be opened at six o'clock, and to begin at
seven. Box, Five Shillings, Pit, Three Shillings, Gallery,
Two Shillings. . .
