Sunbury, May 1. Three Hundred & Thirty Dollars Reward.
Deserted from that part of the Pennsylvania Regiment, late
commanded by Col. Thomas Hartley, the following men, viz.
Barney Duffield, Alexander Andrews, Moses M'Curcey, and John
Dempsey, who had leave of absence to see their families.
They are all Irishmen, and well-looking fellows, but their
furloughs have been out for some time.-- Adam Hines, George
Hutton, Abraham Bodle, Thomas Swords, and William Harris.
The above men are supposed to be in York County.-- Also John
Bridges and James Doherty; they were persuaded away by two
women they had taken up with in this place, and are supposed
to have gone to Paxton township, Lancaster county. It is
expected all friends to the United States will endeavour to
secure these deserters; and whoever secures them shall have
the above reward, or Thirty Dollars for each man. I
heartily wish these poor deluded fellows would accept of his
Excellency's most generous proclamation, and return to their
regiment.
[signed] Geo. Bush, Capt. Com. Detachment.
