Baltimore, February 29. Late English papers, received by
the way of Statia, further advise, that there never was a
time since the glorious revolution, when the affairs of
Britain were in a more critical and alarming situation.
That the Ministry of that seemingly devoted country, were
submitting to a negociation for peace, under the petty
influence of the Court of Turin. That Te Deum had been sung
in the churches of the Diocese of Paris, and there were
magnificent illuminations in the palace and city of
Versailles, on account of the successes of the Count
D'Estaing in the West-Indies . . .
