On Wednesday evening, after the Beggar's Opera was over, at the Theatre Royal, in the Hay-Market, two countrymen from the upper gallery, although highly pleased with the novelty of the performance said, "that they were rather disappointed in the mode of the opera, as they understood it was to have been reversed, and expected the piece was to have been begun at the end, and so to have proceeded backwards to the beginning." |
