REAL BEAUTY,
Said to have been written by the Reverend Doctor Foredyce.
The diamond's and the ruby's blaze
Disputes the palm with beauty's queen;
That beauty's queen commands such praise,
Devoid of virtue if she's seen.

By J. C.
'Tis real beauty, but how rarely found?
Envy replies, with sly sarcastic sneer--
Envy, that loves to give th' assassin's wound,
And honors' palm from worth delights to tear.
