Mr. Rivington, You are desired to publish the following bit
of nonsense in your next Gazateer, and you will much oblige
the Author, who will pay you on performing it. 'Tis
expected you will comply herewith, which will much oblige.
Yours sincerely, [signed] X.
The Hottentot Chief presents the following to publick view,
which he found in the Kraal of one of his subjects.
Huzza! Huzza! then cry'd a skinner,
Make way, make way for me, a sinner;
An independent ne'er shall live,
I swear by Laud or cousin Clive.
Toroddle, toroddle torall.
. . . [verse 2 and 3, 7 lines each]
Chorus.
And as for their estates we must tax 'em,
And if they won's consent, we will ax 'em,
My brave boy-oy-oy-oys.
New-York, 28th January, 1774.
To be continued as the occasion may require.
