Addison's Campaign.
Mr. Rivington, The following ideas were suggested by seeing
the first part of King Henry the Fourth performed last
winter on the Philadelphia Stage: They are digested into
the form of a Prologue; if you think its publication at the
beginning of our theatrical amusements will not be mal a
propos, and that the trifle may please your readers, it is
much at their service.

A Prologue to the First Part of King Henry the Fourth.
To make the sympathetic tear arise,
And fall in crystal drops from brilliant eyes,__
To draw from every gen'rous Briton's breast
The pitying sigh,--Melpomene has drest
Rebellion's hideous form in gay attire,
And bid her poison with a manly fire.
Yet--may each tender, lovely, weeping dame,
And each brave guardian of his country's fame,
While they lament the gallant Percy's fate,
Pity the man--but the rebellion hate!
