Books and Prints by Auction,
On Thursday the 21st instant October began to be sold at
Tonge and Tronson's store, No. 911, Water Street (Mr.
Heitman's house) A large and valuable collection of the most
modern books, containing the greatest variety in all
branches of polite literature, viz. History, Voyages, &
Travels, Poetry, Plays, Novels, Miscellanies, Arts and
Sciences, Physic, Law and Divinity, &c. mostly new and well
bound, many of them elegantly finished. Also a number of
humourous satyrical and political prints, some by the most
eminent masters. Hours of sale each day from ten in the
morning until after twelve, and from six in the evening
until after eight.
N.B. The above goods were imported (in the last fleet from
Great Britain or Ireland) by the proprietors, with a view of
entering into that branch of business in this city, but some
particular circumstances obliging them to return home, the
whole will be sold without reserve.
