Public Auction, This Evening will be held by Henry Guest, at
his Auction-Room, just below the Coffee-House. The most
elegant Collection of Books, That has been exhibited to sale
during the present Winter. Amongst which are:
The celebrated Collection of the Works of the British
Poets, published in Sixty Volumes, including the Lives of
the principal Ornaments of the British and Irish Nation.
These books have been sold in this city for a dollar a
volume. The are most elegantly bound . . . .[29 lines
listing books on geography, history, travel, law] The
English Theatre, containing twelve volumes of the most
excellent Comedies and Tragedies . . . .[8 lines of books by
Pope, Fielding, etc.] Otway's Plays, Tragedies, and
Comedies, 3 vols. elegantly gilt . . . [8 lines of history,
travel, commentaries]
A Fine Collection of Pamphlets, viz. The Writings of
Samuel Galloway, Esq; with his famous Examination before
the House of Commons; also Mr. Gibbons's History of the
Rockingham Opposition; this celebrated Writer is the Author
of the Decline of the Roman Empire.--Many Plays.--And
Trials, the like rarely exposed to sale at Vendue.
