London, Apr 16. A very elegant entertainment was given on
Monday at the Mansion House, by the right hon. the lord
mayor. . . [7 lines listing of party guests]. The ball was
opened by the Duke of Gloucester and the lady Mayoress; the
dancing continued till twelve, and at two yesterday morning
the whole company departed. There was the greatest number
of nobility ever known at any entertainment at the Mansion
House.
An eminent founder in this city has received a commission
from Corsica for about fifty church bells, of a good size,
and the best metal England can afford.
