A grand musical academy is forming next winter, of a very
entertaining nature. It is to be once a week and to consist
of some of the royal family and near four hundred of the
first nobility and gentry of both sexes. Their royal
Highnesses, the Dukes of Gloucester and Cumberland, and many
noblemen and gentlemen of rank are to compose the band. The
Duke of Gloucester will play the violoncello, and the Duke
of Cumberland the violin. Several ladies of the highest
rank are to be the vocal performers. The whole is to be
under the directions and management of Messrs. Giardini and
Vinto, and the academy is to be holden in Mrs. Cornelys's
great room in Soho Square.
