London, May 15. [In an article about 2/3 of a column long
dealing with a regatta on the Thames River music appears in
the following manner:] A band of musick, consisting of one
hundred and twenty vocal and instrumental performers will
play in the centre of the rotunda [of Ranelagh Garden]
during supper time; other musick to be disposed of in the
garden as the committee shall direct. Three military bands
composed of fifes, drums, cymbals &c., will be habited in a
manner consonant to the naval flag of Great Britain and be
properly stationed, as will likewise three other select
bands of the most eminent masters on wind instruments. All
[will be] under such directions as may best entertain the
company while on the water and at the time of disembarking.
