This being the first of Aug. and the shoemakers of our city being very loyal, made a handsome appearance on that occasion: They had a company of horse, well mounted, in leather armour, and a company of foot in Buff Coats, a company of small boys with size sticks in their hands, accompanied with Crispin and Crispianus, with kettle drums, trumpets and hautboys, and the guns firing from the Brigadier's garrison, which concluded the day. |
