On Monday last his Majesty's declaration of War against the
King of Spain, was published at the Council-Chamber; at the
publick market-place; then at Broughton's battery, and
afterwards at Granville's Bastion, at which several places
there was a general discharge of the small arms of the horse
and foot with loud huzza's, which was accompanied, at the
two last, with a discharge of the cannon:
The ceremony began from the Council-Chamber in the
following manner;
The second troop of Horse-Guards led the way, the first
troop brought up the rear: with trumpets &c. before them,
playing, Britons strike Home, &c. and . . . [13 divisions of
procession]
14th. French horns on horse-back. . . [4 more divisions,
entertainment, dinner, healths]
