Bavaria) September 12.
Lieutenant Colonel Trenck, having got possession of
Vichtach, was detached by Velt Marshal Khevenhuller to go to
Cham, and endeavour to make himself master of it, as being
one of the best towns in Bavaria. . . [17 lines]
Trench insisted upon a categorical answer whether [the
resident Colonel] would evacuate the place or not: Which
the other having refused, Trenck made some motions as if he
intended to go away; which occasion'd great joy in the town,
and immediately musick was heard from all their towers. . .
