London, November 25. . . By private letters from Flanders we
hear the English officers are greatly disappointed by not
taking the field, which they expected they should have done
before now, under the command of their Sovereign: And as
they have now no opportunity to signalize their valour, they
intend during their winter quarters, to give the Flanderkins
some specimens of their gallantry: Several general officers
will pass away their time at Brussels: And for the
diversion of the others, there will be a company of stage
players at Ghent and Bruges, with balls, assemblies,
ridottos, &c. For what an important end have been all our
reviews, embarkations, &c. &c!
