On Monday last his Majesty's Proclamation of peace was
published here, with great solemnity. . . [22 lines,
Governor's entertainment, healths. At 5 PM troops marched
up, procession of dignitaries, led by Governor, ] and all
the gentlemen of the council followed him two and two; the
procession being in the center, the musick ceased, and then
the proclamation was published by the He[r]alds, viz. the
Secretary and Clerk of the Council; the troops and
procession then moved on, in the same order, to the Market-
Square, where, the drums and musick again ceasing, the peace
was proclaimed a second time, . . . [and a third, ] the
evening concluded with illuminations, sky-rockets, and other
demonstrations of joy.
