39, 1762.  Copy of a letter from the Earl of Albermarle, to
the Earl of Egremont, dated Head-quarters near the Havanna,
Aug. 21, 1752.
[Report of the battle for and capitulation of the Havanna]

The governor hung out a white flag, and beat a parley; and
at the same time sent out an officer to propose a cessation
of arms for twenty-four hours, in order to prepare the
articles of capitulation.
