Citation | SCG-C.768.011 18-25 Jan 1768:22 (34/1686) London, November 5. Last night, about ten o'clock, the remains of his late Royal Highness the Duke of York were deposited in the royal vault in King Henry the VIIIth's Chapel. At nine o'clock the minute guns began to be fired at the Tower, and continued till the ceremony was over. St. Paul's bell began at the same time to be tolled every minute; and the bells in most of the churches in London and Westminster were tolled on that occasion. |
