London, November 24. We are assured from authentic
intelligence, that No. 3379, drawn on Thursday last a prize
of 20, 000l. is the property of Mr. Alder, a cooper, at
Abingdon in Berks.
. . . The broker who sold the ticket came to town from
Abingdon on Saturday; with [h]is horses finely decorated
with ribbons, &c. at the expence of the proprietor; all the
bells in the town were set to ringing; he elegantly
entertained the broker, called in his neighbours, promised
to assist this with a capital sum, that with another, gave
away plenty of liquor, . . .
