London, August 11. It is very justly observed by many
hundreds of the fair sex, as as[sic] also by the gentlemen
of the several musical societies dispersed over England,
that Music was never so much in vogue as at this time, which
is in a great measure attributed to that great and amiable
patron, our most gracious Queen, who, in a very masterly
manner, plays on the organ, harpsichord, and piano forte;
which seems to have stirred up the youth of both sexes, nay,
even grown persons, to attain this great and most agreeable
of all accomplishments.
