Charles-Town, July 5. Last Saturday arrived here in 18 days
from Pensacola, his majesty's packet-boat the Diligence,
commanded by Capt. Arthur Clark . . .
Previous notice having been given, that the statue of the
right hon. William Pitt, would be got ready to be raised
this afternoon. . . . As soon as this was done, Lord
Chatham's health was drunk, 26 cannon were discharged by the
artillery company, three huzzas succeeded, and St. Michael's
bells rang--joy at every countenance. . . .
