The subscriber begs leave to acquaint the public, that he
has opened a school, near Captain John Stevenson's, the west
end of Queen-street; and having the advantage of an
extensive opening, and free air, it is esteemed a very
pleasant and healthy situation; where youth will be
carefully and expeditiously instructed in spelling, reading,
writing and arithmetic; book-keeping upon an easy plan;
navigation, and other useful branches of the mathematics.
He purposes to keep an evening school from seven o'clock
till nine, during the summer season, where young gentlemen
will be carefully improved in what they request, relative to
the sea, accompting-house, or trades. [signed] T. Tomlinson.
N.B. He teaches the German flute and violin, every
Saturday afternoon.
