Dublin . . . Last Sunday evening, a numerous congregation
assembled to hear and join in divine service in a parish
church not very far from St. Audeon's, in this city. The
bell, after tolling for an hour to assemble the
congregation, tolled for another hour to call their Rev.
Pastors; but alas! tolled in vain. They came nor sent not
to their neglected flock, who after sitting in a silent
meditation that would have done credit to a Quaker meeting,
for upwards of two hours, returned peaceably to their homes,
filled with religious reflections on the uncertainty of all
sublunary expectations!
