Paris, Feb. 5, 1782. The regiment of guards celebrated the
30th of last month at Versailles, the birth of the Dauphin.
There were dressed and masqueraded balls: the King, the
Queen and the Royal Family, honoured both with their
presence, and admired the magnificence and good order of a
body so much distinguished by the nature of their services,
as well as by the individuals whereof it is composed. Their
Majesties expressed their satisfaction upon that
entertainment to the chief officers; the Queen danced the
first country dance with one of the guards.
