University at Cambridge, October 18, 1783. On the 7th
instant, two of the medical professors, sometime since
chosen, viz. Dr. John Warren and Dr. Benjamin Waterhouse,
were inducted into office.
. . . [7 lines, dignitaries assemble.] A little before
12 o'clock, upon the tolling of the bell, all the
undergraduates assembled in front of Harvard and formed in
two lines in inverted order. . . [48 lines] The orations
being finished, the 13, 14, 15 and 16 verses of the 139th
Psalm, and the 1, 2, 3 and 4th of the 103d, according to the
version of Tate and Brady, were sung. . .
