The young King of France is passionately fond of the English
language: and we hear he intends having a company of English
players the ensuing winter at Versailles, and every winter
after, and that he has applied to our Roscius to furnish him
with materials. A theatre is already preparing, and those
who have the good fortune to be appointed his servants, will
have the satisfaction of receiving very high salaries, with
the allowance of many privileges. Roscius himself, we hear,
has had a most polite and pressing invitation to spend a few
weeks there; but whether he will accept it is not yet known.
