The rage for high feathers in their heads is so great among the females of fashion, that on the night of Mrs. Abington's benefit, some ladies who sat in the front of the side boxes, wore them so high that the roof of the box was rather too low for them. Surely, if this fashion becomes general, women may, with more propriety, be called the feathered race, than the female sex. |
