By a letter from Shropshire we have an account, that a
shopkeeper of Newport in that county (who had been long
suspected of carrying on a criminal correspondence with
another man's wife, was last Sunday se'nnight in the evening
caught in a barn with his mistress, by the husband, who (on
information of the intended meeting) had concealed himself
in the straw, and who, with the assistance of some friends,
qualified the gallant for the opera, in case he long
survives the operation, which is doubtful, as he now lies in
a very dangerous condition.
